2 Great Series That Could Receive New Life on Nintendo Switch

One of my favorite things about E3 is seeing an announcement that wasn’t already spoiled for me, by the internet (it’s my own fault). That initial feeling of shock and excitement is truly unparalleled. Nintendo has done a bang-up job as of lately surprising me with their announcements. In fact the Nintendo Switch itself with its diverse range of titles has become a home of shocking reveals. Doom, Wolfenstein II, Mortal Kombat 11 those are just some of the titles I never though we would see as part of the Switch library, but here we are. I think the Nintendo Switch has got a great position in the market right now and more developers need to take advantage of that. So I’m going to talk about two, 3rd party franchises that I feel could find new life on the Nintendo Switch. Who knows? Maybe one of these will be an E3 surprise announcement.

Dishonored – Bethesda

When someone mentions Bethesda many peoples initial reaction is to talk how much they love the Elder Scrolls or Fallout series. Both are good series in my eyes, but the Bethesda series that always puts a smile on my face is the Dishonored games. The stealth action adventure is one of the best times I have had with any series. Dishonored itself was great, but the second game built upon its already solid base, making what I personally believe to be the greatest stealth title of this generation.

Sadly, the second Dishonored was met with relatively low sales and fell below Bethesda’s expectations. The future of the series has been on pause, with no one really being sure if it will continue. I think Dishonored would be a perfect experience on the Nintendo Switch. It’s a fantastic single player experience that wasn’t too intense on the graphics either. With the Switch lacking a bit with 3rd party support, i think Switch players would easily buy Dishonored 3 as a Switch exclusive. It would be a great title to play on the go, because it can easily be played in short bursts. Some may say that an M rated title like that can’t do well on the Switch, but I think Mortal Kombat 11’s terrific sales speak otherwise. I would really love to see this happen and I hope Bethesda thinks about this opportunity.

Jet Set Radio – Sega

Jet Set Radio has been gone for quite some time now, but it has not been forgotten. With the only new Jet Set Radio in the past 10 years being a port to steam, it’s safe to say that the series is on quite a hiatus. Many fans are hoping for a new Jet Set Radio and while it may be quite a niche genre, I think the Jet Set Radio franchise still has some life in it. The crazy over the top rollerblading, graffit spraying title could be a perfect addition to the Nintendo Switch library. Have some local 2 player options using the Joy-Cons along with a story mode full of great missions and Sega is pretty much printing money. Niche games like Jet Set Radio have a home and it’s the Nintendo Switch, Sega just has to see that. If Sega isn’t going to make a new Jet Set Radio for Switch the least they could do is give us the original 2.

Conclusion

These were just 2 series that I really feel could be fantastic if they came to Nintendo Switch. There’s plenty of series that would be perfect for the platform, but these two came to my mind after thinking about it for sometime. I would love to do another one of these articles again if people are interested, so let me know in the comments. Thanks for reading everyone!
